In-Flight Skincare and Makeup Routine

This time I’m going to write about my skincare and makeup when I’m going on an airplane. I actually decided to put a pause to my time in Australia and have came back to Japan. I don’t have any idea when I’m going to go back or anything like that. Of course I used a plane to come back, so I thought it is the best time to introduce you to my skincare and makeup on the plane. I go on the plane more than once a year, so I think I’m a little bit familiar with it. The current routine is really good with my current skin, but I’m open to any recommendations so please let me know.

First of all let me explain my current skin. My skin type is combination and my T-Zone is a little bit oily. Also, I am very lucky and rarely get acne or breakouts. I have lived overseas for a long time, so I’m used to going out without any makeup. So the skincare and makeup routine I’m about to share, is not that much of a makeup routine. I have no experience of going somewhere directly from the airport too, so I always go on the airplane with very minimum makeup. Also I normally try to get on the plane early in the morning or late at night. This time I took a morning flight to come back to Japan. (However, there is only two flights back to Tokyo and there is not that much difference…)

at home skincare goodies

To start, I will go into my skincare routine. This routine starts from before I go to the airport and at my house or hotel. When I’m going from my house, I normally take a quick shower at the very last moment. If I don’t take a shower, I will wash my face and make sure my face is clean. From there I do my normal skincare routine. First I use a mild toner and do a face mask. I will use any face mask that I prefer at that moment, but I normally tend to go for something hydrating or soothing. While I have my face mask on, I will proceed on hydrating my body. Most people tend to moisture their face and lips, but it is crucial that you moisturize your body as well, so I use a body oil for that. When I’m done with my face mask, I use a light cream and make sure I rather on enough sunscreen. I always use SPF50 and the most moisturizing sunscreen that I have. And this brings me to the end of my skincare routine before I arrive to the airport.

Next is makeup. As I wrote at the very start, I tend to go to a lot of places without any makeup. So, I go to the airport pretty much without any makeup. So this routine is going to be very simple and quick. First I want to put some color into my skin so I start with brush. I always use a cream cheek for this and recently I have been loving the ones from NARS and CHANEL. I don’t do this every time but sometimes I curl my lashes and put on clear mascara. This time I was just going back to my house so I didn’t do it. Then it is just lips from here. I always like carrying more than one lip product with me. What you will always see with me in the airport is “Lip Glow” from Dior. I love this product so much that I have so many different colors of it. The choice of color normally is Raspberry or Berry but it changes from time to time. Another one is a normal lipstick. This really varies from time to time, but it is frequently a pink nude glossy lipstick. The criteria are that the color needs to look good with my no makeup look and that it moisturizes the lips well. These days I started to have one more lip product with me and it is the “Lip Butter Balm” from Summer Friday. I have so many colors for this as well, so I choose what I’m feeling for that specific day. And this is everything that I bring with me on the plane as well. With this, this is also the end of my makeup routine for flights. (Even though it didn’t really seem to be a proper makeup routine…)

From here the scene changes to inside the plane. And it is my in-flight skincare routine. First of all as I wrote, I have done a deep skincare before I get on the plane. And normally I do a good skincare routine that night as well. I normally am on Economy class, so I prefer not to do so much skincare. The time I do my skincare is about 1 hour before we land and I do it in the bathroom. First I clean my hands and wash my face with water. Then I use a serum and cream. I use both sample size for my serum and cream. I don’t really care about the serum, but for cream I choose something moisturizing. Then I reapply my sunscreen, and lastly I wash my hands and my skincare routine in the bathroom is done. Other than this, I only bring a moisturizing mist. I always have the “Beauty Elixir Mist” from Caudalie, and I love not only the moisture it gives but also the refreshing scent it has. This is the end of my in-flight skincare routine.

some of my beauty products

Now I will introduce you to all my skincare, cosmetics, and beauty products that I bring with me on the flight all at once. For skincare, a sample size serum and cream, normal size sunscreen, sunscreen stick and mist. I sometimes have a single-use serum just in case. Next is my cosmetics, which is just my cheek and lips. Also, I do have a stick product that allows me to take extra oil from my face. Other beauty products I have with me are hand cream, hair brush, hair mist, eye drop, hand sanitizer, and mini perfume. I always have hydration as my priority when I choose any products.

This is the end of my in-flight skincare and makeup routine. I don’t really think it has been any help to anyone, but I hope it has helped someone out there. Also I would love to hear everyone’s skincare and makeup routine for flights. I will like to write about what I do during the flights some time soon. As always I will be waiting for request as well.

Hair Care Routine

This week I would like to tell you about my hair care routine. I breached my hair once three years ago and since then I have taken a lot of time and money on hair care. I damaged my hair a lot with one breaching and with the help of my hairdresser, I am trying to bring my hair back to the beautiful state it once was. First, I have a lot of hair but my hair is very thin. My hair is quite long and the damage gets worse as we go down. I go to the hairdresser once every month and a half and get my hair dyed every time.

1.Brushing before Shampoo

I think brushing your hair thoroughly before going into the shower is crucial. If your hair is tangled it will get damaged and it will get more damaged when it gets wet. Even my hairdresser told me to brush my hair a couple of times before going into the shower and I have been doing it every time since. It is better if you have a tangle teezer or something similar but I don’t have one, so I use a regular brush and that is fine as well.

2.Shampoo & Treatment & Conditioner

From here on is what I do in the shower. I shampoo twice every time. The first time is very fast and I rinse it off, right after it starts to bubble. The second time I take about three minutes to make sure I wash my scalp well. I try to use shampoo and conditioner from the same series, I am currently using “Mixim Suppli”. I was using the miracle series from “Pantene” for a long time, but I have decided to go on a journey to look for the best. Then I use the “mise en scéne” treatment, I choose a treatment that says it’s for damaged hair and I try not to use the same one continuously. My hairdresser told me that your hair gets used to the component of the treatment and the treatment will not work as it is supposed to. I try not to put the treatment on my scalp but put it on everywhere else. Then I go ahead and use water treatment to the end of my hair. I’m currently using one from “Kundal” but I used “Moremo” for a long time before that. After I finish putting on my treatment, I use a spring hair tie and put my hair up in a bun. I let the treatment sink in while I wash my body then rinse it off. Lastly, I put conditioner on my hair avoiding the scalp again, and rinse it all off. This is the end of my hair care inside the shower.

3.Hair Milk & Hair Oil

Now from here on we are going on into out bath hair care routine. Before I dry my hair I put on hair milk and hair oil. I have been repeatedly buying hair milk from “SHIMA” and I love it because it is not heavy but it still moisturizes my hair very well. Then, I put on hair oil on the end of my hair only because it suffers from severe damage. I just started this recently and I’m using hair oil from “&Honey” since it deeply moisturizes my hair.

4.Dry my Hair & Hair Oil

Finally, I start drying my hair. I start by drying my hair to about 80% using my hands. After it is 80% dry, I put on hair oil from “SHIMA” since it is not so heavy and I can put it on throughout my hair. Then I spray a hair mist from “ERUCALA”, which uses the heat from the hairdryer to make my hair smooth.

5.Dry my Hair & Finish

Finally, we are getting to the end. I normally take a shower at night so I use a brush and curl my hair inwards. When my hair is 100% dry, I spray “SALA” hair water to my hair thoroughly and brush it once. Then I blow cold air onto my hair to get the natural shine of my hair. This is an important step to get your cuticles back at the right place and silky smooth. Then I put the “SHIMA” hair oil to my entire hair and “&Honey” hair oil on the tip of my hair to tame my hair. This is the end of my hair care routine.

Thank you so much for reading this extremely long blog all about my hair care routine. I am astonished by how many things I put on or do to my hair after writing this. Although it is quite the job and I feel like being a girl is sometimes very time-taking, it is these times that make me feel so much joy of being born as a girl. Let’s not make this longer than it needs to be so this is the end. If you have any recommendations for shampoo, conditioners, or treatments please let me know. If I have anything that I would like to recommend to you, I am going to post it on Instagram or Twitter so please come and have a look.

Favorite Nail Polishes

This week I’m going to talk about nail polishes. I have had waves with self-nail over the past few years, but this time during quarantine I have been addicted once again. Usually when I’m in Tokyo I’ll have gel nail when there is an event or a trip coming up and normally go for nail polish. I don’t have any events or trips planned as of now, so I’m going to try to master self-nail during this time. I also made a big online order of nail sheets.

Chanel: Le Vernis “491 Rose Confidentiel”

This is a famous colour in the Chanel nail polish collection. It is sold out often online but I was lucky enough to be able to buy it at the duty-free shop in Narita airport. It’s a very beautiful dusty-rose colour that you can use at any season. Also, when I have this on, my friends frequently ask me “What colour do you have on your nails?” In my nail polish collection there are a lot of Chanel nails, because I love how easy it is to put on and how fast it is to dry. In addition, my mom loves Chanel nails so I have used it ever since I was very little. I started using it because of that, but since that I have used many more brands and have found out more that Chanel is one of the best. Whenever I go to duty-free shops in airports, I always look for a good new colour.

Chanel: Le Vernis “500 Rouge Essentiel”

You definitely need a red coloured nail polish in your collection. So my choice will be definitely this one. I don’t really have red on my hands so for me red will always be a colour for my toes. It might be an overstatement but my toe nails are always red in summer. Red is a very classical colour for women in specific so if you don’t have one please consider purchasing one. I really love a fresh and bright colour for my toe nails especially because I feel energized. Of course I love me a pink or beige as well.

Chanel: Le Vernis “572 Emblématique”

I always thought this was a nail colour for the autumn and winter season but this year I have been using it in summer. It is an autumn colour for sure because it is a burgundy but it has a little bit transparent so it’s good for the summer as well. I always do two coats in autumn and winter but for summer I recommend doing only one. It has a good colour payoff even with one coat, which is another reason I love Chanel nails. My mother has the same kind of burgundy which is slightly different, but we love our own which is perfect. The colour is only a slight different though…

Ducato: Natural Nail Color “N50 Mannish Gray”

Last is the only non-Chanel polish in this favourites. This is a very elegant gray but it has a good balance of both gray and blue. I have a few Ducato nail polishes in my collection and this is one of my favourite affordable nail polish brand. They have a very vast range of colour, so if you’re looking for a specific colour please have a look at this brand. Also, “Condense Milk” from Ducato is the best for a base colour when applying nail seals.

So this is the end of my favorite nail polish list. The majority of them are Chanel but I really think their quality is one of the best. If you consider where you store it, it actually holds the quality for a long time so it is not too much of an expensive purchase if you think about it carefully. The red polish which I use the most has been purchased 2 years ago and I just have used half of it. On my Instagram I show you guys my jell and self nails on my stories, so please follow me. Are you a jell type of person? Or a self nail type? Or do you do nothing to your nails?

Favourite Sunscreen

This week I would like to introduce you to my favourite sunscreens. I try to apply sunscreen on myself (especially the face area) all around the year. But from around the end of April to the beginning of May, I definitely put on sunscreen everyday. I like the look of a healthy beautifully tanned skin but I prefer a clear and bright skin for myself. Also, getting sunburnt increases the risk of you getting skin cancer so I try to not get sunburnt. Also, when I went to primary school in Australia, we were not allowed to go outside during break time if we didn’t have a hat. There everyone had sunscreen on during the summer, and it became a habit for me to put on sunscreen everyday and frequently. So, let’s go on and introduce you to my favourite sunscreens!

Skin Aqua: Tone Up UV Essence “Lavender”

This sunscreen has a lavender tint which gives you clear skin due to the effect of the color. Lavender is made up of blue which gives you clear skin and pink which gives you life and a little bit of blush and liveliness. So, it will make your bare skin more beautiful and make it look like it has a veil of makeup. Especially, when your face hits the sun it reflects the light and makes your skin look clearer and gives you a natural highlight. I use this when I don’t apply makeup all day or when I want to use lavender as a control color for underneath my makeup.

Bioré: UV Athlizm Skin Protect Essence

This is the other sunscreen I use on a daily basis. I feel like it has more effect than the one above so I use it when I go out for the whole day. Also, this is waterproof so I use it when I go to the pool or sea and if I reapply it every 1.5-2 hour, I don’t get sunburnt as much. From this time on I put sunscreen on my body, and this is the only sunscreen I apply on my body. I try to apply sunscreen the most on my décolleté area and hand, which can become spots easily. I love this because it doesn’t come off easily with sweat, it doesn’t have white powder residue, and it is very easy to spread.

Shiseido: Clear Stick UV Protector

I don’t use this everyday but I use it usually when touching up on my makeup. If I’m going to the pool or the ocean I always bring the one above, and for other times I usually have a powder foundation. However, if I feel like I need a proper sunscreen for that day I always bring this with me. I love it because it creates no mess, you don’t need to use your hands and it has no color to it. It has some scent to it but for me it isn’t strong and is rather pleasant. You can also use it on your body so I do that as well.

Lancôme: UV Expert Tone Up Milk “Rosy Bloom”

I use this more as a primer than a sunscreen but the effect as a sunscreen is very high, so I’m going to put it on the list here. I think this product is only available in Asia but it is very famous over here. The color has been chosen from 64, to fit perfectly to the ideal skin tone. I have used it since it was first released and I have loved it from the start. It doesn’t have the sticky feeling a lot of other sunscreen have maybe because it is more of a primer, but you can go on to applying your makeup right after it. I use this when I want to look a little bit more feminine, soft or gentle. I love this because it makes my skin look like lovable want to touch skin,  which is my favorite type.

This is the end of my favorite sunscreen list. These days there are so many new sunscreens out on the market, so I would like to try more this summer. I will update you the list if there is any new favorites. From this season on you can not live without sunscreen, so I hope everyone doesn’t get sunburnt.

Favourite Hand Creams

This week I am going to introduce you to my favourite hand creams. My hands are not the ones that become very dry so I put importance on the scent, how sticky it is after I apply it and the moisture. Please refer to this blog to buy your hand cream this season.

Miss Dior: Miss Dior Hand Cream

My favourite and most used perfume is Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet from Dior and this smells so familiar to it. When I knew that there was a hand cream from the Miss Dior range, I went to buy it immediately. A lot of people actually compliment me on the scent and ask me what I am using when I have this on. The scent is pretty strong so I don’t recommend using it before going to restaurants though. I don’t use it daily but I use it when I am going out shopping, going to sleep, or when I want to relax. The scent is something I am used to, so it makes me relaxed and confident. The moisture is brilliant but it is never sticky and you can hold your phone and not mind the finger print.

Ohana Mahalo:  Fragrance Hand Cream

This Ohana Mahalo series is very famous in Japan and I have a few products from them. But, I didn’t know they had hand cream and body milk so I bought them immediately. All of the products from the series have a beautiful and faint scent and it is perfect for university, where you have people close to you, but you want to have a nice scent. This is another feature about this series but the packaging is adorable. As a girl, I love having cute things in my bag so I love seeing the package.

Atrix: Beauty Charge Hand Cream

This is a hand cream I have been using since I was in middle school. There are a variation of scents and I love all of them, but I love the honey & yuzu scent the most. It has a fresh but little bit of sweet scent and I have never met any thing like this. Also, the moisture it has and how it never leaves my hand sticky is my favourite from every brand I have used. I always put this one with no scent on before going to a restaurant.

This is  the end of my favourite hand creams. From now on when the air becomes drier, hand creams are a must and I am going to keep on rebuying these three. There are so many more hand creams around my house which I mainly got from my friends, but I tend to lean towards the three I introduced. I choose from my hand cream collection by scent everyday according to my mood that day. Please let me know if you have any good hand creams you recommend.

Favourite Lip Balms

This week I would like to introduce you to my favourite lip balms. My lips are not too dry but I put lip stick on a lot, so I try to keep my lips moist and ready. I have a few lip balms that I love and I use them on different occasions. So, I would like to introduce you to all of them.

Nivea: A Kiss of Moisture

This is the lip balm I use at home. I usually am makeup-free when I’m at home but I put on a lip balm. I always feel awkward that we take care of our skin by doing skincare and always making sure that we keep it moisturized, but we don’t take care of our lips. So, I always make sure that I take care of my lips just as well as I do my skin. This lip balm is the best for me when I’m at home with the good amount of moisture to the lips but not feeling sticky.

Nivea: Deep Moisture Night Project “Honey”

This is a lip balm that I love the scent of, it has the very natural and sweet scent of honey. I use this as a foundation for my matte lipsticks. Even if I put this lip balm before my matte lipstick it keeps the colour and the long-lasting the same. Some matte lipstick can be too matte that it can look crispy and dry. So, I put this lip balm under those lipsticks so it looks good for the whole day. Also, I sometimes use this when I’m going to sleep as well.

Vaseline: Lip Therapy Rosy

This is the lip balm that I use before bed. The moisture is one of the best and will keep my lip moist until the next morning. I don’t like sticky texture so I think that this is the best when it comes to not sticky but very moist lip balm. However, if you use this for a foundation for your lipsticks it will lead to smudging.

Dior: Lip Glow

This is my carry around lip balm. I love this range so much that I have every shade of it. I like how much colour it gives my lips, so I use it when I don’t have any makeup on. I going to university or grocery shopping without my makeup on sometimes. I use the colour “raspberry” the most at those times. The colour I always carry around in my purse is “pink” which doesn’t give so much colour.

Dior: Lip Sugar Scrub

This is a lip balm that I use when I’m doing my makeup to prep my lips. There aren’t that much lip scrubs that you can use everyday but I use this everyday when I’m doing makeup. I use this right after I finish my base makeup and keep it on until right before applying lipstick. Then I take it off with a tissue and it actually exfoliates my lips. I feel like that the colour goes on better afterwards.

This is the end of my favourite lip balms. I think it was shorter than usual but thank you so much for reading. I love lips in my makeup the most because of how much colour and texture you can choose from. So, I always want to put the colour on to a well-conditioned lips. I would like to stay caring for my lips as I do right now. Do you do anything special for your lips? Or do you care for your lips in general? Well, see you next time!!!

My Favourite Perfumes

This week I will be sharing with you my favourite perfumes. If you saw my bedtime routine you will probably know that I love scents. Scents for me play a big part in how I feel, I feel empowered by my favourite perfume or feel sexy or relaxed in others. For me perfumes are to not only smell nice and give a good impression to other people but something to set the mood for the day as well. I don’t put on perfume everyday but I like putting perfumes on for going out or on a special occasion. Also you will notice that every single one of the perfumes in here are all designer perfumes. I do own quite a few non-designer perfumes but they are not in my favourites. Because of all the designer perfumes are on the higher price point, I feel like they give me more power throughout the day and I love the scent more as well. Also, just to clear it out, I am not going to write the notes of all fragrances on here and my sense of scent is not the best one. It is just how I feel about my favourite perfumes.

Dior: Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

This has been my favourite scent since I first bought it when I was around 12 years old. This is also my first ever designer perfume and I really do not regret going into the designer perfumes ever since. This has been my dream scent and I knew that I wanted to buy this as my first designer perfume ever since I smelled the scent somewhere. It is a very feminine and floral scent that probably no-one will hate and it is such a nice scent. It is not too overpowering and you can use it day to night and every season. For me this perfume is my favourite and also my most used perfume and it has a special place in my heart. When I have this perfume on I become more confident and I feel relaxed. I will have this on days I have a presentation to make in front of the class or even on an exam day. Interesting thing would be that I wore this perfume to my entrance exam for my junior high school and my exam for my university as well.

Georgio Armani: Si

This has been my go to scent for night outs and classic dinners. It is a stronger scent in my collection and more sexy than my other perfumes. This is a perfume that I bought within the last few years and has quickly grown into my favourite perfumes. It has a very unique scent to it and a lot of people will ask me what perfume I am wearing when I wear it out. I will not wear this to school because I feel like it is too strong and sexy for my age but you would be able to wear this to the office if you liked to.

Jo Malone & London: Peony & Blush Suede

This is my spring and summer scent. It is a more fresh and awaking scent. However, what I like about this perfume is that it is not a light scent either. Many fresh scents or spring scents to me are very light and not fresh enough for me. Also they might be too fresh when it might seem it is like some kind of medicine or something. However, this perfume is very good because it is not too fresh and the scent smells very natural. I also love this perfume because it is very natural as well. It seems like you are in some kind of flower paradise with the best scent.

Burberry: My Burberry Blush

This one I have it in a rollerball type. So, this is the scent that is always in my school bag. (I also do have an atomizer for my Miss Dior as well but I carry this around in my bag when I go shopping.) This is something that I will use on a day to day basis when I forget to put on any other perfumes or body spray, which is most of the time. It is a very neutral scent so it will not crash with any makeup look or any looks. This is also a very good everyday scent and is probably loved by everyone.

So, this was a round up of my favourite perfumes. Even though I don’t wear perfumes everyday they are always an important part of my daily life since they can change how I’m feeling. I also have a lot more perfumes since I buy a new one nearly every year or more. I buy one every summer in the airport when I go on my summer trip with my parents. I love testing out new scents so let me know your favourite scents down below. I am open to any scents recommendations!!
