Night Time Routine

In this post I’m going to be introducing you to my routine. This time it is going to be my night time routine. I am a complete night owl, so this routine sometimes take place very late at night. Because it is a night routine, I am not going to describe everything I do from when I come home, but from when I eat dinner to sleep time. As my condition, I live with my mother at home in Japan.

First of all, we eat dinner at 7pm everyday. My mother cooks for us and it is so delicious, that it is something that I always miss living abroad. These days I have been eating it everyday and it makes me so happy. In our household we always watch something on TV that we have recorded. We start clearing and cleaning during the show, and move to the sofa, but we continue watching TV until about 9:30 to 10:00. I always start browsing through TikTok and Instagram while watching TV as well. I always have a shower before dinner, so it is very much relax and me time from dinner.

Around 9:30 to 10:00 we both retreat to our own room. I normally do something productive like studying in the daytime so I don’t really study at night. But if there is a need for it I of course do it, and I do get a lot done. From here it is completely free time. My mom goes to bed pretty early, but I have my own room so I stay up late. I normally go through my emails, write my blogs, and reply to any messages while watching YouTube. I don’t have anything that I need to do at this time normally, so I just do what I want to do everyday.

From here, I start prepping for the next day. If it is not a very early start, I like to choose my clothes on the day, so I don’t pick out my clothes. However, I like to write down what I need to do on a list and check and plan my day on Google calendar. The efficiency of the next day really differs if I do this step or not, so it’s a very crucial part of my night time routine. Also, I feel like I’m getting ahead of the day and it motivates me to get more done. There are times that I change my schedule when I wake up the next day, but it is still important for me to plan ahead. If anyone is interested in my to-do list or how I plan my schedule, please comment below. I do intend on making a post about it.

When that is all done, I go into my night time skincare routine. I love and cherish this time as much as I can. It is not just a time for me to take care of my skin, but also to take care of myself. So, I sometimes try to make it special by using a bit of an expensive product or taking a bit more time than usual. I have already posted my night time skincare routine as another post, so I won’t go into depth here. But I currently am loving the Caudalie toner. I also love to use a face mask and will use a special one if I have something the next day. When I’m finished with my night time skincare, I go ahead and brush my teeth. When I rinse my mouth, I do my last step of my skincare to finish it off with a face oil or cream. This is the end of my night time skincare routine, so I go back to my bedroom, spray a lavender mist on my pillow, get dressed in pjs. I go on my phone to check social media for the last time, and then put on my alarm on my phone and go to sleep.

This is the complete end of my night routine. Of course this routine will change if I go out to eat or when I’m too tired. But I try not to change my routine a lot, because they are working for me. I have a pretty sturdy night time routine, but not a morning routine. Are you a night owl? Or an early bird? Please let me know with your routine. See you next week!

Night time Skincare Routine

This week we are going to introduce to you my night time skincare routine as I told you in the last blog. If you haven’t seen the last blog which was my nighttime routine you should go check it out. I would like to announce that my nighttime skincare routine is quite intense and time-consuming. However, I enjoy taking care of my skin every night and letting my skin feel so soft and good. I will say that I have a combination skin, where my T-zone is oily and the rest of my face is normal. I don’t suffer to much from breakouts or dark circles regularly so my main purpose is to brighten my face and take my makeup off perfectly. I will go ahead and introduce each step and the products I use.

Bioderm: Make-up removing micelle solution Sensitive

This is what I use as my first step of my skincare routine to take off my makeup. I will take a little bit of this on a cotton pad and take off my eye makeup. I will also use the residue to take off my eye brows and the rest of my makeup if I have any. I do this step because the next two steps of cleansing does not take my water proof, smudge proof mascara and eyeliner.

Shu Uemura: anti/oxi+ -pollutant & dullness clarifying cleansing oil

Banila Co.:  Cleansing balm purifying

This is my next step of the skincare routine and it is also to take my makeup off. This is my first step of my double cleansing and this is purposed to take my makeup off more than the other one. I just take this on the palm of my hands and gently massage it into my face and wash it off.

Nivea: Creme care facial wash Bright up

This is the second step of my double cleansing and it is purposed to take the residue of my makeup and smooth out the skin. Something very weird about me is that I can’t use anything other than Japanese brands for my face wash because I break out or my skin would feel weird after it. I like this one in particular because it leaves my skin feeling very bouncy and soft after I use it. I just take some into my hands right after I rinsed off my first step and I massage it onto my face and wash it off really well.

Etude House: Soon Jung pH 5.5 relief toner

This will be my next step of my skincare routine and it is toner. I take this on a cotton pad and pat it on my oily zone. So, that will be my T-zone and around my jaw line, I will also use it on my cheeks after I am done. Then if I have anywhere I seem I am breaking out, I will just put the cotton pad on there for a few minutes.

Lancôme: Advanced génifique youth activating concentrate

This is the next step and it is a booster. I know this is expensive but I have noticed so many differences since I started using this. I might have not noticed the youth activating benefits about this since I’m still 20. But, I have noticed that my skin becomes soft and bouncy after I use it and I think that it leaves the skin with a great base for the rest of my skincare to soak into my skin.

Aqualabel: White up lotion 1

Dior: Diorsnow brightening light-activating micro-infused lotion

Kiehls: Clearly corrective brightening water

These are my lotions. I would take some on my hands and put it on my skin. I would sometimes do this a few times if my skin feels really dry. I like my skin looking and feeling a little bit wet after this so I would do it a few times until it looks like it. However, these days because I have been consistent with my skincare, I don’t have to do it for a few times.

Dior: Capture youth Matte maximizer

Kiehls: Clearly corrective dark spot solution

These are my treatments. I love these two so much and have been using it for a while. (I have been using other from the capture youth collection too.) I normally put about 8-10 drops into my hands and press this into my skin. I take time doing this part because I really want to realize the benefits from these products.

Kiehls: Ultra facial cream

Klairs: Freshly juiced vitamin E mask

These are my creams and I massage this into my skin. I usually dip my hand into the product and really work it in to my skin. I will keep in mind to massage in an upward motion so that I have youthful looking face for the decades to come.

Kiehls: Midnight recovery concentrate

This is my oil and I would usually put it in my Kiehl’s cream and massage it into my skin too. I normally do this when my face feels dry or if I have something pretty special the next day. I also do it when I am going to be on a flight the next day and the day I was on a flight.

Kiehls: Creamy eye treatment with avocado

This is the last step of my nighttime skincare routine and it is an eye cream. I know that you aren’t supposed to put on your eye cream at this point but I feel like this is best for me. I don’t do this everyday but will do it more than 3 time a week. I put a little bit on my ring finger and pat it on my under-eyes and eyelids.

This is my entire nighttime skincare routine. I know it was very long and thank you for everyone that has read it to this point. If you have any questions about my skincare routine please feel free to write it below or DM me on my instagram. (@lisa__heidi) I will see you next week. Hope you are having a good April!!

Bedtime Routine

This time I’m going to share with you my bedtime routine. I don’t have a lot of things to do before going to bed and it isn’t that time consuming but I look forward to this time and love it as well. For me this is the time that I allow myself to relax 100% and when I don’t need to think about anything. As I am a university student it tends to be that I stay up late to study or enjoy my hobby time, so I try to get in bed and sleep for as long as I can. Also, because of that my top priority is to relax as fast as possible so I don’t need to be using my brain and my eyes for a long time.

Skincare

My night time skincare routine is going to come as a post next week so please be waiting for that. However, as I don’t put that much effort into my morning time skincare routine, I go full out on my night time. It takes up the most time in my bedtime routine but I absolutely love this time. It helps me rewind and reminds me that I love myself and am taking care of myself after a hectic and long day.

Change into my PJs

Even if I don’t have anything to do on that day or I don’t have any intentions of going out, I take off my PJs the first thing in the morning. For me changing into my PJs is a switch to start relaxing and it’s funny enough because I feel sleepy from the moment I put on my PJs. So, I put on my PJs the next thing after my long skincare routine. From this time on, I become more and more sleepy.

Diffuse the aromatherapy oil

This is the most relaxing thing in my bedtime routine. So, I diffuse my aromatherapy oil in my little humidifier. It humidifies the room well and gives out the smell evenly.

Check tomorrow’s schedule and make some to-dos

This is the most important thing in my bedtime routine. By checking tomorrow’s schedule I check when I need to wake up and what I need to do. Also, I set my alarm clock on my phone on at this time as well. Also I make a list of things that I want to get done the following day. In this list I will include, things for the blog, study, and even things like having a bath or going grocery shopping. Of course I will highlight things I need to get done the following day but I would include things I would like to get done as well.

Spray my bedding and pillow

For me scents are an important part for me to relax. So, I spray a perfume or a fragrance spray on my bedding and pillow. If there is something important the following day or if I had something bad that day, I would spray my favourite perfume, but normally I will spray a fragrance spray. (My favourite perfumes will be a future post) For my fragrance spray I normally purchase them at “Bath & Body Works” or “Victoria’s Secret”.

Bodycare

I would not do my body care for all over my body as I do after a bath but I do take good care on my hands. I usually use hand creams from Victoria’s Secret “Bombshell” or Atrix “Yuzu Tea”. Also if there is somewhere I feel that is specially dry, I will take care of there too. Also, I feel like that my lips dry the best when I am sleeping so I take good care on my lips as well. I usually use Nivea or Lip Sleeping Mask from Laneige.

SNS Time

Usually I set time aside to play on my phone before this so I don’t do that much but I set a little bit of time to look on my phone. I do not do this when I’m so sleepy but I will see my emails and texts and respond to them, and then look at instagram. Sometimes I will login to my favourite game.

Sleep

This is the end of my bedtime routine. I am quite good at falling sleep so I don’t have that much trouble about this time. Also, I am pretty good at falling back to sleep even if I wake up in the middle of the night, even though that is rare. (Of course I am not good at getting up though…)

That is my bedtime routine all complete. I put my full effort into relaxing so it is generally like this. Of course when I feel so sleepy or come back home at a late time I will erase some things according to my energy. However, I generally enjoy this time so I will do my full routine.
