Happy New Year!!
I had a lot going on in 2019 and a lot of it I haven’t mentioned here. I would like to go a little bit into that and go through 2019 briefly. I would start with January and go through until December and slightly go into 2020.

January: Coming-of-Age Ceremony
I was in Vancouver, Canada for my 2nd semester of 2nd grade of university from January to March. This ceremony is very special to a lot of Japanese so I was looking forward to it for a long time. This ceremony is once in a lifetime because you only get to attend when you turn 20 years old, which is an indication of adulthood in Japan. I also got to own a special kimono called “furisode”, so I would love to wear that to my friend’s wedding someday.

February: Whistler
My parents came to visit me and we went up to Whistler, which is a very famous place to ski. My parents actually have lived in Vancouver before I was born, so it is a special place for them. So, they visited me once each year during the two years I was there.

April: Disney
April was the month between my 2nd semester and my summer semester, so I went back to Japan. During that time I went to Disney Sea with my best friend, and Disney Land with my mother. We had great weather and not that much crowd for both days, and as a Disney mania myself, I was pleased with the Disney trip. This photo is from a jazz bar, where I went with my parents.
June: Vancouver
For May and June, I took summer semesters so I went back to Vancouver. My mom came to Vancouver to help me withdraw all my luggage and to also have some fun. We had a day trip to Seattle by bus from Vancouver and played golf 2 times as well.

August: Maldive & Thailand
From July onto February of 2020, I am back in Tokyo with my parents. We went to Maldive and Thailand for this summer vacation. Every summer vacation we go to different countries. This year I wanted to go to Maldive so these two countries were picked. The two were very different, so it was added to one of the trips I can’t forget for the rest of my life.
October: Golf
I finally got to play golf with my parents. I have never learned golf professionally but I always have learnt it from my father. So, playing golf with my family is always a joy. Golf is a sport that you can do for your whole life so I want to improve and keep on playing it forever. I haven’t been able to break 100 so that’s my goal for now.
November: Driver’s License
It was kind of a slow start for me but I started trying to get my driver’s license on this month. I had my permit in New York and was able to drive around so I didn’t have that much fear in driving. I was able to get my actual driver’s license on the 1st week of December. I haven’t driven ever since but I would like to soon.

December: Disney & Christmas
I can’t believe it’s 2020 already but 2019 has ended somewhat peacefully. I went to Disneyland with my mother and aunt. It was a warm and not so crowded day as well. We also celebrated Christmas with a chicken and cake for dinner. I was so blessed that I was able to eat the Christmas cake from my favourite cake shop.

This is the end of my 2019 round up. It was very fast but how was it? I was pretty tired mentally the first half because of my university, but I finally decided to change university and in the latter half I was busy getting ready for that. However, I think 2019 was a very happy year for me. I’m going to start a new life in Australia this year so I would like to challenge some new things. 2020 will be a year of change and a year that I need to work hard, so I would like to brace myself and work on each thing. I would also like to work harder on this blog and upload more to get closer to my dream. You will get to see more of my 2019 memories on my instagram, so please have a look. (@lisa__heidi, there are 2 underbars)
I will upload this year’s goals probably tomorrow or the day after so please have a look at that too.
I hope all of you have a wonderful and healthy 2020. I pray for your success this year.
